We believe that it is crucial for our students to learn to express themselves and communicate. It is our goal to provide a safe environment for our students to be who they are and express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions through writing and drawing. We can learn so much about our students by studying their entries and asking questions to our students about their work. We provide a designated time during each day when students are given the opportunity to journal about a suggested topic of the day or anything else they want to journal about. Through this activity, our students learn to print their names and letters, draw more structured and detailed pictures, and be creative. Each entry will be dated to show progress the student has made throughout the school year and labeled to help the parents understand what the students intended to express. Not only will this notebook be a fun activity for our students throughout the year, but it will also be a fantastic way to store as a keepsake in memory of their preschool years.
