This area not only contains wooden, cardboard, and foam blocks, but it also contains small figures, architectural pictures and other items which will promote creative building. When children build, they learn about sizes, shapes, spatial relationships, and mathematical concepts. They are able to make critical decisions about how to build a structure or solve a construction problem. When the child knocks it over, he or she is learning about gravity and safety.
